Hackney New Primary School

We have a slightly longer school day for all, with breakfast and after-school provision to enhance the children’s enjoyment and learning opportunities. The gates open between 8:35am - 8:45am for children to have a soft start and register is taken at 8.45am. 

Our pupils and families enter via Downham Road entrance.  You can take your child to their classroom and say goodbye at the door or your child can walk in alone.

Afternoon collection is at 4:00pm.

• Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are collected from their classrooms. 
• Years 3 and 4 are collected from the Hall (off playground)
• Years 5 and 6 leave via the main office if they have permission to walk home alone otherwise ther are collected from the Music Rooms (off playground)

Total hours provided in a typical week: 36.25 hours 

What to do if you are late?

You must go to the School Office where your child will be signed in and given a 'present' mark. This is to ensure your child is registered as present and will be included in lunch numbers. 

Afternoon - If you are late to pick up your child, you will need to collect your child from the school office and you must sign them out. If you know you are going to be late and want someone else to pick up your child, you must let the school know that you have authorised this person to pick up your child. 

Breakfast Club

It runs from 8am to 8.35am everyday. 

After School Care

At Hackney New primary School, we offer extended provision every day: from the end of the standard school day at 4pm until 6pm. This service is called Play Plus.
