Our School's Uniform

Our School Uniform expectations are:  

• White shirt
• Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore
• Navy knitted cardigan or V-neck jumper - (HNPS logo is required as it will ensure the school cohesiveness and give children the feel of being part of a community)
• Elasticated navy/red striped tie - Optional
• Dark (grey, navy or black) socks or tights
• Plain black shoes - Shoes with a coloured band around the sole or plimsolls are not acceptable and must not be worn at school.
• Bag (book bag or a shoulder bag)
• Plain blue, red, grey or black headscarf if worn for religious observance
• Headbands or ribbons or pins must be black, navy, blue, red or grey
• Any colour jacket or coat for winter
• In Summer only - Plain black or red Sandals only if you would like your child to wear sandals
• In Summer only - Grey shorts or red checked summer dresses if you would like

Children are required to wear their sports kit for PE and games lessons:

PE Kit:

• Plain white polo shirt or t-shirt
• Navy, grey or black shorts or jogging bottoms
• Navy knitted cardigan or jumper (can wear their school uniform one)
• Trainers or black plimsolls

Swimming Kit:

Children will require the swimming kit for their swimming lessons only:

• Swimming costume (no bikini or tankinis)
• Swimming trunks; short-like trunks are best (we discourage long swimming trunks as they impede pupils' ability to swim well)
• Bath-size towel

Appearance and Belonging:

• Jewellery is not allowed (unless for religious observance) as it can present a danger if worn in school. However, if your child has pierced ears they can wear one pair of small stud earrings only. These must be removed or taped over for PE, and need to be removed for swimming.
• Watches may be worn but they should also be removed for PE and cannot be the ones which can be used to send messages or receive phone calls or take pictures or make recordings.
• Nail varnish and make up are not to be worn in school.
• Long hair must always be tied back in the interests of safety, health and focus on written and practical work.
