Equality Objectives
At Hackney New Primary School we believe that diversity is a strength, which should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach and visit here. We are committed to ensuring a high equality of education and opportunity for all pupils. Inclusion at Hackney New Primary School is about providing equality and excellence for all in order to promote the highest possible standards of achievement. It also ensures that we recognise and celebrate the differences that exist amongst us, that we treat all people fairly and that we strive to eliminate discrimination wherever it exists. This is a whole school approach - equality applies to all members of the school community: pupils, staff, Governors, parents and community members.
Hackney New Primary School is committed to ensuring equality of provision throughout the school community. To achieve this our equality objectives 2023-25 are as follows:
1) To ensure that our attendance of disadvantaged pupils and pupils with SEND is either improving and/or is in line with the national school attendance figure and support is in place for those who need it.
2) To ensure that children with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are supported to access their learning by using a variety of approaches which meet their needs.
3) The curriculum provides an education that is appropriate to pupils’ needs, promotes greater awareness and acceptance of diversity, different cultures, abilities, families and people.
