Hackney New Primary School

Dear Parents and Carers, 

We would like to welcome you and your family to Hackney New Primary School. We are delighted to work in partnership with you. Knowing that happy children learn, we want to fill our new school with the joy of learning and the goodness of teaching. We will be giving real wit and energy to the way we work with each unique child, mindful that we are all teachers and we are all learners. Hackney New Primary School has an emphasis on strong relationships; relationships that are often built outside of the classroom – at mealtimes, at playtimes and in activities led by teachers during the extended day. As their first carers, you are the biggest single influence on your child’s life chances and we very much hope to work closely with you. Your contributions will be highly valued; whether that will be organising community events, supporting learning during the school day or helping out with enrichment activities and school trips. 

Our vision for HNPS is to provide students with access to the widest range of opportunities and instilling self-belief, intellectual curiosity and responsibility towards others in society. We dedicate all our resources and energy to the way we work with each child. Hackney New Primary School is an outstanding school and our curriculum is underpinned by the development of core skills. This may be the discipline of learning a musical instrument, the problem solving and collaborative skills they will be developing through our Forest School work or the love of books that will help them access worlds beyond their own. No subject will stand alone. For example, great mathematicians need to be able to enquire, to puzzle, to collaborate and to communicate well, and these skills will be woven into every aspect of our school day. 

Finally, I wish to say that I take very seriously the trust you are placing in me. For your children to flourish, they need to grow in a loving and secure environment. At Hackney New Primary School, we will develop excellence in our teachers and in our curriculum to ensure we, give our children the necessary building blocks to have strength of character, to form strong relationships in life and to leave us hungry to learn more and with a strong understanding of what makes them special.
