Mr Rous

Mr Rous comes to us from a school in Haringey, where he taught in Year 3 for two years. He has recently undertaken the Teach First Leadership scheme and gained a PGDE in Primary Education at the UCL Institute of Education. His passion for education stemmed during his own school years whilst undertaking a work placement at a kindergarten in Germany. Since then Mr Rous has taken part in youth work and education experiences, teaching English in primary schools in Sri Lanka for a year, leading a youth group for refugee children during university, as well as a Teaching Assistant placement at an international school in China. In 2017, he certified as a TESOL teacher from Trinity College London. These experiences cemented his passion for education and shaped his teaching practice. Mr Rous is passionate about wildlife and is a strong advocate for outdoor learning. He spearheaded an after school ‘Nature Club’ at his previous school which was an initiative to engage children with their local environment and community. Mr Rous is keen to create a learning environment that values meaningful conversation and creates opportunities for discussion whilst building tolerance and respect within his classroom.
