Outdoor Learning Begins this Week

Everyone enjoyed the Autumn sunshine this week in Outdoor Learning. Here are some Year 2 children hunting for micro-habitats!


Year 2 have started learning about musical notation this week. They have begun by arranging themselves on the ‘stave’ to represent different notes. 

Year 1

Autumn brings new opportunities for getting creative outdoors. Year 1 have created some beautiful natural artworks inspired by Andy Goldsworthy.      

Busy Books

Reception have started making their very own busy books. We can’t wait to see how the children will express themselves and their interests!

Chef Damian

Our School Chef Damien came into the classes this week to teach about all the delicious things we could find to eat under the sea!

Hackney History Week

Last week we also celebrated Hackney History Week. We wandered down Hackney’s streets and looked at buildings old and new, visited Hackney Museum and learned all about how Hackney’s community has developed over time. 

P.E with Coach Dan

Coach Dan has joined the team at HNPS and has been in coaching us in P.E. The children are really making progress and gaining a greater appreciation for fitness and healthy lifestyle.

Forest School

Reception have been reading ‘The Jolly Postman’. After reading Jack’s postcard of concern about a certain nasty giant, they decided to make a ‘Giant Trap’ during Forest School.
